Circumstances finally allowed me to get a photo of my digital on-site set up. (Thanks Lisa!)
I use a 17″ Mac Powerbook, a small Wacom tablet with an inking stylus, the printer is an Epson Stylus Photo R380. The software is Corel
Painter IX.5. I have a selection of themed bodies pre-drawn and draw the subject’s head in a separate file then drag it onto the body of
their choice. At times I bring a monitor to slave to the laptop that
mirrors my desktop so the subject and those waiting can watch me work. This time I didn’t do that as I had a most excellent helper going out
and rounding up customers for me. There have been times when the client
has had a projector available to do the same thing on a larger scale. At the Eiteljorg we’ve done both at different times depending on whether it
was a day or evening booking. The available bodies are the same as those on my “Body Shop” area of my “Gift Caricature” section of my web site. This was a fund-raiser for Starbase Indy, a local science fiction convention so the body themes were predominantly SF or fantasy.
The first two folks got away before I could get the camera out!
