I have the World’s Greatest Mail Carrier, seriously - I do. As a Christmas gift to honor his excellent service I offered to do a caricature of him. As many things do, this project mushroomed into something about four times as complex as I had intended but it resulted in a fun piece. Bob, the mailman, is a massive Indy car race fan and has family ties therein. He told me that he and his wife were devastated by the death of Dan Wheldon and that his nephew once was on Wheldon’s team. So he wanted a piece with his nephew (the guy with the shades, the only photo I was given), Wheldon and the nephews current driver/boss Charlie Kimball. And Bob, the one on the left. With the setting being the Indy track garage area with the pagoda.
Last night I drew at the holiday party for Pepper Construction of Indiana. Navigating downtown traffic and parking just before the Big Ten Game was an adventure!
