Final piece in my series of film and TV actors who have played Superman, Henry Cavill from this years Man of Steel.
Fifth in my series of Superman film actor caricatures, Brandon Routh from Superman Returns.
Actually the fourth in the series, Dean Cain from Lois & Clark, The New Adventures of Superman.
My caricature of Christopher Reeve as Superman
I’m starting something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, a series of caricatures of all the Superman actors (Maybe, not sure about Bob Holiday yet) starting with Kirk Alyn, the serial Superman and George Reeves, TVs first Superman (and my Superman!).
In June I was contacted to do some drawings of new hires for one of my favorite recurring client, The Foundation for Education Choice. I forgot to post it then but was reminded by a new organization inquiring about the same service. Here are the Foundations new hires and some of the reference from which I worked.
This is Franco Aureliani of “Art and Franco,”
creators of the DC comics, Tiny Titans, Superman Family Adventures, Aw
Yeah Comics! and the Aw Yeah Podcast (along with John Siuntres). I
listen to their podcast and Franco came up with this slogan for the new
J.J. Abrams Star Wars films anticipating some sort of Star Trek/Star
Wars mash-up. I’d done a caricature of Art Baltazar a year or so back so
it was time to do Franco.
Years ago someone recommended the sitcom HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER. I tried the DVDs of the first season, thought it was just another FRIENDS clone and gave up on it. Then it got syndicated and I saw bits and pieces of many seasons and became intrigued in the development of the characters so I borrowed all the seasons from the library and ran them while I was working. I found it very entertaining. I saw Harris being interviewed on Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show and decided I had to caricature that head.
I’m working on a digital caricature, I have to leave the studio and when I walk back to the computer I’m struck by how creepy these huge eyes appear on the screen sitting there waiting for me to come back to work!
Been watching the Rifleman. Paul Fix (Micha Torrence), Chuck Connors (Lucas McCain), Johnny Crawford (Mark McCain)
Three more guys moved on from this corporation (or at least from this facility) this month
Another retirement caricature for one of my regular clients.
I’m working on a large job for one of my repeat clients.
Soon I’ll be offering live iPad caricatures as well as traditional marker caricatures. Here are some of my practice pieces;
A little something for the ISCA “Let’s Draw” weekly exercise.
